Are you afraid of getting dementia or
witnessing it in a loved one?
You're certainly not alone! In this slow-and-steady 5-month program, we’ll explore the near-universal fear of dementia and transform our relationship to it from complete panic to more power, peace, and preparation.
We’ll learn an illuminating term that can instantly change our perception, perspectives of people living with it, & new possibilities for connection. You’ll also prepare powerful tools that can support you in living fully for the rest of your life, with or without dementia or any other disability.
Join Emerson of Happy Memories Elder Support with monthly group sessions, one-on-one check-ins, resources, discussion, and powerful preparations (that are actually really fun!)
The goal is that, by the end of our journey together, you'll feel that a future with dementia can be brighter than we've been led to believe.
Who is it for?
From Panic To Power is for everyone! In a world that instills widespread fear of this very common experience, we can all benefit from unlearning the stigma and empowering ourselves and the people around us.
It may be particularly transformative if you are
-
noticing potential symptoms or processing a diagnosis
-
getting older and feeling increasingly afraid of memory loss
-
immediate or extended family of a person living with it
-
an end-of-life professional who wants
to empower people living with it
- and (perhaps most especially)
aware of family history or risk factors
and feeling fear for your and your loved one’s futures
Discretion is encouraged for overwhelmed caregivers, people who are currently grieving (after or nearing a death), or those who have had or are having particularly traumatic experiences with dementia. You may be best supported (or simultaneously supported) through individual therapy or a support group. That being said, if you resonate with the topic and feel compelled to move forward, I'll welcome you with open arms! Please reach out if you have any concerns about your readyness.
Please contact Emerson at [email protected] if you would like to discuss accessibility and accommodation. This program can be adapted for different abilities and impairments.
